The 2009 Central Plains Awards Banquet was held @ the Portage Sport and Cultural Association Hall Wednesday April 8th. For the first time ever the event included the Female Caps who have completed their first full season as a Stand Alone Regional Female Midget Program.
The first full season for the Female Caps saw a very young team get better and better as they went along showing they could compete with any team in the Province. The Caps are capable of returning 15 of 16 players in 2009-10 with some very strong graduating Bantams coming up.
As is the case in any Program individual accomplishments are generally recognized althouth the coaching staff feels the success of the Female Caps in their first full season was the fact they became a team and got tremedous contributions from all the Players including APs as the team went through 2 major injuries as well other player absences.
