FORMER CAP OFF TO GOOD START TO COLLEGE CAREER

Former Central Plains Capitals Defense Shaye Nelissen picked up an assist for her new team the University of  Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets in a 5-2 victory over Concordia College on Saturday night. Nelissen who was a solid 3 year player for the Capitals and holds their career points record and all offensive points records for D is a solid defender with very good offensive skills. Nelissen also played summer hockey for the Pembina Valley Icecats who won the 2 Nations Female Hockey League. The Yellowjackets and Nelissen picked up ther first NCHA (Northern College Hockey Association) conference win vs. St. Scholastica College Saints Tuesday night pushing their record to 2-1 early in the season. The Yellowjackets have been picked to finish second in the 12 team NCHA coaches pre-season poll.
